How We Use CATE in Practice
① We estimate the treatment effect of deploying each workflow (e.g., HR Contract Automation) across sub-groups defined by industry, headcount band, and current tech stack.
② Segments with CATE > 2σ above the ATE are prioritised in sales outreach — these companies see the highest ROI and generate the strongest referrals.
Key finding: Professional Services SMEs (50–100 headcount, Xero-integrated) show a CATE that is 3.2× the average treatment effect, making them our highest-value acquisition target.

? LATE uses an instrumental variable (IV) to identify causal effects when not all treated units comply. Our IV is PSG grant eligibility — eligible SMEs are more likely to adopt. LATE = ITT ÷ First-Stage (compliance rate), isolating the causal effect on compliers.
